Description

Countess Elena Shchapova de Carly is the first Russian fashion model in America, where she emigrated in 1974 with her husband Eduard Limonov. Now it occupies a high social position in the aristocratic society of Italy. In this collection, except for the novel "I'm Elena" - a kind of answer to the famous book "This is me - Eddie" its heroine, included the most poetic collection, allowing to make an adequate understanding of the work of the writer.
In front of us - quite a remarkable phenomenon, a kind of "Pygmalion in reverse": the literary heroes of the novel of Eduard Limonov's "It's me - Eddie" and joined the fray, getting off book pages and taking the shape imposed by the author's imagination. The second character of the famous book by Countess Elena Shchapova de Carli wrote his version of the love story, in which "the crocodile he has not the last. In love with a young poet Eduard Limonov had once exclaimed: "they Say that a beautiful woman cannot be a good poet. Can!"
The literary debut of Helena on the West can be called successful. Probably some of then appeared in emigre press reviews were written under the impression of the book, not in the hope to add additional features in the scandalous appearance of a broken family. Paradoxically emigrant "public opinion" has awarded former spouses different sides of the same coin. Novel Limonov was perceived as a reflection of real life, Elena, and the book Helena - as the second dimension of existence miserable, desolated Adicci.
"I'm Elena," book "about the personal feelings of the time", rather eclectic in both form and content. The texts included in it, follow each other according to the laws of card solitaire is unknown what will read on the next page. There is no book collecting together the storyline, which may help the reader's intuition to imagine the further course of the events described.
"Interview with myself", confession, self-denunciation is conducted on all aspects of the heroine's personal life, whether it is a scene of lesbian love, the inconvenience and the shock delivered by exhibitionist-the Puerto Rican, the first children's sexual experiences or some spice to a career as a model. All these stories are intermixed with each other, like the colored glass in the children's kaleidoscope, it is difficult to understand, where truth, and where fiction, what was and what was not and could not be. The book suddenly begins, and equally ends unexpectedly, it seems that it is not started and not finished, and as such it does not exist, is fiction, a literary hoax from beginning to end: both in form and in content, and genre, and style - nothing.
