Description

"The poor people" is the debut novel of F. M. Dostoevsky, who made the writer known in literary circles before the publication. Among the first readers was D. V. Grigorovich, who read the manuscript of N. And.Nekrasov: "On the last page, when the old man Dewoskin says goodbye to Barbara, I could no longer control himself and began to sob; I stole a glance at Nekrasov: he also tears". When you have finished reading the morning they came to Dostoevsky to report strong impression made by Roman. Nekrasov gave the manuscript to Belinsky: "New Gogol was!" Many years later, Dostoyevsky recalled the words of Belinsky: "You really opened and made known as an artist, got as a gift, appreciate your gift and stay true and will be a great writer!.." In January 1846 novel "Poor people" was released in the anthology Nekrasov's "St. Petersburg collection": readers first became acquainted with the works of Dostoevsky.
