H. p. Lovecraft against humanity, against progress

Michel Houellebecq, one of the most widely read contemporary authors who have taken the trouble to analyse - in a very non-standard, "thinking" manner - the works of another famous writer of the early twentieth century, Howard Phillips Lovecraft. Houellebecq traces the life journey of a strange man and a strange writer, intentionally who built their lives in contrast with the contemporary literary fashion and social shifts - whether racial tolerance or the universal desire for enrichment.
