The hero of the novel "We" — mathematician and engineer — he lives in a giant city-state, separated by a wall from the outside world. It seems that everything's done right and reasonable: people have names instead of numbers, wear the same clothes, their lives strictly regulated. But gradually, the hero begins to understand that in this perfectly arranged society there is no place for freedom and love. The novel We, written in 1921, was considered a satire on the Communist system; only in 1988 the Russian readers had the opportunity to meet with the main work of Yevgeny Zamyatin.
